Franklin woman indicted in Obion County


A Franklin woman and a former pastor are charged with plotting to kill the pastor's wife.

Shelley Shannon Moran, 40, was a former member of 54-year-old Edward Paul "Eddie" Mallonee's congregation in Union City. Both were indicted Monday in Obion County, located in northwest Tennessee.

Both are charged with conspiring to commit first-degree murder and attempt to commit first-degree murder by poisoning Mallonee's wife, Cathy.

Moran recently purchased a home at 240 Wardington Pass off Fieldstone Parkway in Franklin last September. She is a former resident of Union City.

Mallonee was the pastor at Second Baptist Church from 1997 until he resigned in February.

Mallonee and Moran are set to make their first court appearance in Obion County Circuit Court Monday morning.
