WHAT’S UP WITH THAT: Depp moving to Franklin?

A reader sent us a link to a  www.complex.art article claiming that actor Johnny Depp has purchased a $17.5 million estate in the suburbs of Nashville. The reader asked us to find out What’s Up with That? She wants to know if it’s true, and if so, could the home be in Williamson County.

Why, of course it could and is – at least the home that the website has pictures of. We have a call in to Karen Morgan, the broker who has the listing, but no word yet on if it’s sold … or to who.

What we can tell you is that the home in question is Bella Rosa (all homes that cost $17.5 million have names, you know.) The gated estate is located on Hidden River Lane off of Old Hillsboro and comes with over 47 acres, which affords privacy to whoever buys it.

Built in 2001, it has four bedrooms, nine bathrooms, parking for seven vehicles and is 19,042 square feet.

If Johnny indeed is the buyer and his children transfer from French schools to Williamson County’s award-winning school district, they would attend Grassland Elementary and Grassland Middle schools.

So, that’s What’s Up with That? for now. If we learn more, we’ll definitely let you know.

Do you have a What's Up with That? question about something you've seen or heard around town? If so, let us know at news@franklinhomepage.com.
